International Biodiversity Consultants Ltd 5th Anniversary!

Posted 1st September 2024

International Biodiversity Consultants Ltd reaches its fifth birthday on 12 September 2024! Director and co-owner, Phil Rogers, started the business in 2019 with a passion for focusing on international projects related to biodiversity and ecology. The timing was challenging; in 2020, Covid-19 changed the world, making it difficult to support a small fledgling company while the world shut down to tackle the virus. However, IBC survived, in part due to the renewed interest in protecting our green spaces, acknowledging their importance for human wellbeing.

International Biodiversity Consultants Ltd celebrate 5 years

Our focus began with developing biodiversity strategies and action plans. However, IBC soon found itself supporting multi-international corporations with complex monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure positive changes with their estate portfolios.

At the heart of our business are its people. While Phil has stepped away from the day-to-day running of the business, Tanja Wördehoff-Rogers is now leading. Tanja, Director and co-owner started with an overhaul of the website design, bringing a fresh approach to design and integrating important aspects, including a focus on eco-sociological elements, putting people and communities at the heart of what we do. Tanja has ensured we maintain this approach with our clients and the types of projects we undertake.

IBC would not be what it is without its associates, who have provided support and technical advice during our first five years. Special mention goes to Natalie Weber, our first associate, and Pakhi Das, who was instrumental in our social media exposure, business development, and project delivery. We are always keen to hear from individuals who can contribute to IBC’s success and help attract work for the team. Team collaboration is critically important and helps us achieve efficient project delivery. To those who have submitted their CVs, thank you once again. We are constantly reviewing to see who can provide optimal fit for our opportunities and we hope to share

Today, IBC continues to thrive and grow, and we are especially proud of the opportunities we have provided for many developing consultants. Our clients have also pushed IBC to develop further and continue to challenge our boundaries and technical capabilities. We can confidently say we look forward to another five years of renewed effort to support biodiversity, ecology and nature.

Social Media Review for September to December

Our holidays are over, we’ve had a great summer break and now it’s time to look forwards and gear up for International Biodiversity Consultants Ltd autumn and winter social media campaign. Our focus over the next few months is to post weekly on our channels including: BlueSky, Mastodon, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. We are aiming to cover specialized topics like a focus on the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and what this means for European corporations and its voluntary partner, Taskforce for Nature Disclosure (TFND). Pakhi Das, our Conservation Lead and Associate will be attending the Convention on Biological Diversity CoP16 in October-November this year to be held in Bogota, Columbia. Pakhi will provide in-the-field updates on the exciting activities there. In-between, IBC will keep awareness going with a focus on global celebration days and also look out for our requests for CVs as we seek specialists and experts to help support our work.
